AFTER THE FIRE
My study of 6 plants that reappear in the same
growing season after wildfire. They are all set
against burnt gorse sticks. These are now in
London for the RHS Botanical Art Exhibition at
the Saatchi Gallery, from June 19th. I am
delighted to have been recognised with a Bronze
Award on my very first submission to the RHS …
and on a subject which is not entirely within the
scope of the horticultural genre! But, After the
Fire is a set of illustrations which offer a hopeful
overview of the resilience of the natural world
which can recover so quickly after a devastating
wild fire.
‘After the Fire’ - 6 illustrations awarded an RHS Medal at
the exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in June and July:
Plant Portraits
These studies focus on individual plants — their
structure, character, and the quiet personality each
one reveals when observed closely. Jenny works
from life whenever possible, using careful drawing
and layered watercolour washes to build depth and
clarity.
Learn to paint with Jenny - Jenny runs a small,
friendly weekly class suitable for beginners and
improvers. Students learn observational drawing,
watercolour techniques, and the fundamentals of
botanical illustration in a relaxed, supportive
